Alliance for Cooperation and Legal Aid Bangladesh - ACLAB

A national non-government development organization was established in 1987 to improve the socio-economic conditions of the poor and disadvantaged people of the country. ACLAB is registered with the Department of Social Services (DSS) under Ministry of Social Welfare and the NGO Affairs Bureau, GOB. The organization is affiliated with the Directorate of Family Planning under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; the Directorate of Youth Development under Ministry of Youth and Sport. In 1998, ACLAB started work on the issue of HIV/AIDS/STI with the people at risks. Its works with the high risks people were financially supported by HASAB, UNICEF, UNDP, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Social Welfare etc.

ACLAB has been providing training on disaster management in Cox’s Bazar, Barisal, Khulna, and Jessore districts for the staffs, community leaders, and community people.

ACLAB has started working on the Community Radio initiative with Govt. permission since April, 2008.
